The Yoga Goddesses of India

Practicing yoga is an important part of my life. It helps me to become a more balanced person. It also helps me deal with stress. I love it because I’m able to relax and focus on my mind. I’m happy to say that I’ve been able to do yoga for a long time and I really like it.


Among the many Hindu goddesses, Durga is a powerful force in nature. She is also a force that helps individuals find the strength they need to achieve their goals. Her energy can be accessed in yoga practice. Awakening Durga’s energy can help individuals achieve radical transformations.

Durga is the warrior-goddess, who protects humanity from evil. Her power helps people speak up for justice. She is the protector of Earth and the universe. Awakening her energy can bring radical breakthroughs and help individuals become healthier and more vital.

In ancient India, Durga was created by the gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Each of the three gods contributed their energy and gave Durga weapons and gifts.

When Mahisasura, a destructive demon, tries to consume Durga, she is saved by her powers of strength, wisdom and courage. She defeats the demon and restores balance in the universe. The battle between Durga and Mahisasura is narrated in the Devi Mahatmya.

During the Navratri celebration, nine forms of Ma Durga are worshipped. Each form represents a different quality of Ma Durga. The nine forms are Skondamata and each day of the Navratri celebration honors one of the nine forms.
